Scarred Roses, RakShak Series Book I

Some place leave their mark on people.
Some people leave their mark on places.
Bring them together and they become stories.
Stories that define everyone and everything in their path.

The Scarred Roses is a mystery thriller and the first book of the RakShak series and I loved the story of Paswan Gulab Rai. Raksha and Shakti are two sisters on an adventurous journey after reading their mother's journal after her death, which she left in a bank locker in Jodhpur. There are a lot of characters in the story Raimas, Suma, Meera, Vani, Ajay, GK, Kabir and a lot more.

The character's characterization and background were perfectly built and the narrative was so good. You love the way each mystery is revealed and the way they find out. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story till the end and after reading the epilogue am waiting for part 2.

The way the author wrote a story connecting with history and some fiction was so good I loved Paswanji from the beginning of the story really felt bad how the haters can ruin one's name after they left the world since the one has done a lot of schemes to improve the living of the normal people. Overall you will love the story. The way they remember the treasure hunt played as a family and how a knot describes the meaning and how to find the clues from the cryptic poems and content from their mother's journal.

A Battle for New India: a story to transform Indian Politics is a fiction with protagonist Sri who is a musician turned politician. The life of Sri from childhood is narrated as a background story after the horrible attack on him as he was starting a campaign and contest as an independent candidate with the support of the people.

We may all or few believe politics is dirty and we berate politicians and politics. If we want to make it clean and white politics, we need people like Sri who want change. A rich lad with all amenities in his life who became a politician never know the suffering of common people and what is to be done for them. There is a need for common people to enter politics who understands the need of a common man and make plans and schemes based on their needs.

This is a short read with a lot of emotions filled to bring some change into Indian Politics. The writer does it wonderfully through his narration and I loved it.

The Forgotten Palace and the Betrayed Prince

The Forgotten Palace and the betrayed Prince is a nice fictional read with the concept of time travel to the past. The protagonist of the story is Priya who lost her grandma at the age of 18 and now doing post-graduation in an MBA at a B School. Priya is a normal girl she believed her time travel to be a dream but soon found it to be a power she has which her grandmother thought to say on her 18th birthday.

The love-after-hatred story of Arnav and Priya was good. I loved her friends who made me remember my college days. The way she wanted to prove about Satya was good and she was trying to change the past by going to Shesh mahal each time in the past. She was staying with her husband in Shesha mahal for business-related work where she was going in the past. Her friend Anjali a renewed Psychiatrist thought it was her dream state that she is describing.

Overall the story was good. I loved the way the story is narrated and the culture, and dress of the era she travels and the present described. I really felt bad for Arnav and Priya's families. Priya should have taken the right decision. If you love fiction with time travel you can go for it.

The 5 week leadership challenge

The Five-Week Leadership Challenge is a great book written with all needed things to be known to be a good leader. Each chapter deals with each sort of things to be learned and practiced in your life daily to be a right leader for your fellow members. There are chapters where he talk about how the communication is important, hear your team opinion before making any decision rather than thinking they will accept. Owning your mistakes, having the right relationship with client, employees, how to manage time and how to present an information in right way.

There are a lot of things to be learned from this book. He is a good story teller who was explained each topic with some stories related to it which was from his personal experience. In each chapter end we can write answers for the questions and problems we faced in life. It felt like a conversation with the author who was narrating and explaining to us to be a right and good leader.

I loved the way it is written and I will reread this whenever it is needed. I found it a helpful one.

Trusted: Preparing Your Kids for a Lifetime of God-Honoring Money Management

The book Trusted by Matt Bell is about money management with some spirituality and how Christianity as mentioned about money management and verses related to it,

The author has mentioned how he overspent and used money before getting the insight to go in the right direction and describes how he started teaching money management. This book is not only to help us with teaching kids about finance, saving, and investing, but we can also learn and practice from it. The way the author says how he implemented this with children was so nice to hear.

It was really helpful to read for me and made me remember my childhood and teenage and how our parents thought us budgeting and made me know the household expenses they had given allowances to and said us to save and use them wisely.

The writing style was so simple and each chapter discusses well about financial skills that are necessary and that can improve the behavior and mold the child well and make the right choices at the right time which can be helpful in life later and not fall into the cycle of spending more and having less.
