Home Detox

The book gives you a lot of information about how our homes are full of toxins that are causing health issues. Every room in our house is filled with toxic items from the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom to our garden. The author also explains how the plastics and other things we use are affecting the whole family and our neighbours. The author gives recipes to prepare liquid soap, glass spray, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, bug spray and other essential items made of natural items available at home which are not toxic. Even the clothes we wear, and the current furniture made of wood we buy have some hazardous chemicals. We should create a good environment to live in and survive for the next generation.

We can reduce, reuse and produce less waste, small changes each day and really bringing a positive impact in our lives.  The author explains on varied topics how electronics produce chemicals when they heat up and about EMF and how it affects kids more, the kitchen which we use like Teflon coated non-stick pans which are harmful to us.

We are ingesting, inhaling and absorbing a lot of hazardous chemicals from our homes than from outside. I found this book useful for me to know and help myself and my reader and nonreader friends to bring some changes to our home that can positively impact our surroundings. If you want to bring some changes into your lives and create a toxin-free zone the book is the right choice for you.

Just Saying

Just Saying by Sophie Ranald is a romantic read with a lot of stories entwined with a lot of characters. The protagonist of the story is Alice who was a trainee in a Law firm and was in a relationship with another trainee in the same firm. Thinkings start turning down when the head of her department Gordon was removed and Alice should either move to another department or leave and find a job somewhere else but she changes her mind to join a pub as a part-time worker and things start changing as Joe brings his ex-girlfriend to another room so they can share rent as the income from Alice is less. Zoe tries to lure and get back Joe and  Alice is hardworking to get crowdfunding for the pub she is working to not get sold out there is another story of Maurice and Wesly who kept a secret thinking it a shameful thing for forty years and which may cause detention to Wesly from London.

The story mainly revolves around these people and how think to get carried down and what happens at the end. I loved reading it and enjoyed the writing style of the author how the story was divided into each chapter and the way the past events of Alice are narrated like her memory than saying it to someone else and the way each character was developed. I liked Heather who was her best friend to whom she confides everything.

The book is for people who love romance with some humour and satire.

The Zen Mama Guide to Finding Your Rhythm in Pregnancy, Birth, and Beyond by Teresa Palmer; Sarah Wright Olsen

This is an excellent read for people who are planning to have kids. The book covers a lot of topics like pregnancy planning, pregnancy loss and each trimester and post-pregnancy and postpartum depression. Each stage is explained in detail and what they experienced and other moms and moms to be experienced were there. I really loved the way they explained pregnancy loss they used this word instead of miscarriage and how the loss is different for everyone and how it affects and what needs to be done to have a good relationship with yourself and your partner than detaching from everyone around. As mentioned in the title it talks about the birth and beyond and I wish you read to understand what would be good for you as Sara and Teresa have shared a lot of stuff that is helpful for people across the world who wish to have little ones in their life and to feel the parenthood.

I really there are different ways and positions to give birth as I have watched only one position in movies and in a hospital and I got to know more about it we should find the right doctor or midwife who matches our mindset and we should be able to feel secure talking to them. Changing doctors to get the right and comfortable one is not bad.

The writing style was so simple and lucid and I liked how they were expressing themselves openly so that it help others there are a few pictures of them with their kids which is so lovely.

Healthy Kids Happy Moms

I loved this book as it gave a lot of insights into how we can change one's condition or improve from illness by having nutritional food that is right for the person. I learned more about dairy and food that cause inflammation and allergic foods that affect the gut. We can improve our health and our kids by looking at what we eat in a day and how it affects us or causes any health issue like indigestion, infection etc.,

We all know doctors give medicine for the symptoms and may forget to find the leading underlying cause behind it, the nutrition requirement, environment, and stress which are causing inflammation. Making small healthy changes one by one can be more effective in that we can lessen the visits to our doctor.

Kudos to author Sheila for bringing out her experience as a paediatrician and naturopathic doctor. The way she observed each of her patients and her thought process to bring some changes into their lives and enlighten the mothers with her knowledge is great and thanks for the insights.

The book is the right for moms and moms to be to understand how they should hear their gut feeling when it comes to their children. The diet mentioned in the plan and the recipes are very helpful.
