Have you ever thought of living without any regrets?

The book is a good lovely read which gives you lot of positivity.  No regrets living helps you to live a peaceful life with very limited amount of regrets. Whether you believe in science or god, there should be some belief system that can help you to stay non egoistic and not to envy.

I loved the way each chapter explains about different parts of life and how we should lead a life to stay optimistic even during tough times. I felt the book to be very useful and the language and way of writing was so lucid. The author has written things based on his personal experience and stories of his life and people around him. I am one, who believe in miracles and when came to read the stories of survival and right thing happening at the right time which saved the life, I felt they are blessed and the gratitude and prayers for others in needs was something I started agin after reading this book. I really thank author for sharing his stories and experience as a book which can benefit many.

Carved in Ebony

Carved in Ebony is a well researched book with ten woman who are inspiration to the Colored People who were enslaved for hundreds of years and how each women were significantly making some change in the lives of Black People. I came to know more about the struggles and how each they tried to get the freedom.

In each story we can see they had the belief in divine and it is explained a lot in the book and they were stubborn in helping others. There are some who joined missionaries and traveled across the world and give education and love to the people around. I loved that each woman mentioned in the story tried to uplift others.

There were a lot of discrimination and struggles they faced during those era which we cannot think of.  I came to know about special schools, colleges and churches for the Black People which was built by rich coloured people for their people as they know how many white people treated them.

There a lot of people in history who were not educated but had the knowledge and will power to make changes in the society and to empower others  and  it made me think what am doing to make some change in the society, where there are bias and discrimination  still exists.

How to write a book in 8 days gives you ideas to write a book and become an author. The ideas are to be worked out and there should be some hardworking and smart work to done before writing a book. Nothing is an easy task or tough one unless we try.

I loved the way the author narrated her experience and ideas to write a book, especially the holidays she take and how we need rest and peacefulness to write a book. I remember my childhood experience and my wishes when read about hers. We all have a dream that have stop thinking because of what others say. We shouldn't give up.  This book will give you inspiration to do what you love and start your new journey even when you have a daily job.

I loved her writing and way she can speak with the readers through her books and express the thoughts that can create some impact in them.

Awakening the Rainmaker: A Guide to Gender Equality by Nishtha Anand

Awakening the Rainmaker A guide to gender equality has spoken more about how the gender equality starts from home. The women leaders who have been interviewed had some common grounds like parents who treated their kids equally. The career they chose where they are not judged by gender. This is still a thing to follow in many families and firms.

When you have a supporting family and supportive professional system you can reach where you want. Sky is the limit.

We women have to do extra hardwork and effort to prove we are no less.

One of interviews where the guy wanted his daughter to be in well reputed firm in a well settled job and he don't want to give job to women who attended interviews and saying they are only for reception later understood when the same question was raised by the official about his daughter. Everyone possesses varied  capabilities. If there is shared responsibility, and respect to the individuals based on their abilities and not discriminate based on gender will pave way for better society.

I wish the current generation parents will have a non-gendered approach of parenting.

I have seen all ads related to #sharetheload #weareequal They all were so good and understanding. I wish everyone should read this book.

The Girl in the Glass Case

The Girl in the Glass Case is a book with a lot of twists and turns and I wish I don’t give any spoilers. There are two serial killers in the story. The one wanted fame whereas the other wanted a seven day redemption before she reunited with her mother in heaven.

I really felt some sympathy and pity for the serial killers. They had some childhood traumas which made them do such things. All are born innocent but their circumstances and people around them are affecting positively and negatively in their life which mold them into the person they are today.

I loved all the characters  Simone, Zoya, Irshad, Pius, Nalini, Karan, Ranveer.

I really hated Anushka for mocking Karan for the condition he has and cheating him when she understood and married him.

Irshad is superintendent of Police who is trying to find the serial killer Clipper who he cannot fid since 9 years, Whereas a new serial killer Doll Maker killing the kids and showcasing them in a glass class like a beautiful doll.

I laughed at how Irshad thought of error 404 and Pius was thinking and doing it in an undercover operation.

Simone and Zoya are ASP, DSP who are handling the Doll Maker case and I loved the ladies incharge who were in contrast and worked together and got the culprit behind.

I wished the ending could have been extended to a few pages where Irshad knows about what happened inside the bunker and crypt.

Valmiki's Women

Valmiki’s women are five tales of ramayana. The retelling of the story from the perspective of other characters was so good and I loved it. I really didn't know about the existence of Shanta in Ramayana till I read this. She is the eldest child of King Dasharatha.

I heard the story of how Kaikeyi became the foster daughter of Manthara. The way the Mantara was portrayed really makes you love the negative character of Ramayana. She did nothing like they blamed to suffer a lot. It was Kaikeyi’s decision, Mantara loved Bharata like his grandson but no one cared about her. Just read this chapter which has some reality mentioned. The words of the rich are believed.

The story of Tataka from the eyes of Maricha and his vengeance was really nothing wrong. The winners are always portrayed as good ones and the losers as the villains of the story with exaggeration whether it is a mythology, history or a movie. If the hero does a wrong thing and justify it, it becomes right. If the same is done by the other person he hates, he is presented in a negative way as villains.

I really felt bad for what happened to Tataka and family. They were not intruders or Rakshasa. They Rishis are the outsiders who come into the forest and do a lot of Yajnas and give animal sacrifices. Saving an animal made her rakshasi. The way Tataka talks really makes you think.

Bhairava’s words are so true..

The story of Meenakshi, the sister of Surpanakha and her talk with Sita and her suffering for loving a man really made me feel. Sita was banished from the kingdom of Rama. If you read you start loving many characters you hated and hate the ones you liked.

I really liked the story from the other side and enjoyed it.

Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982

Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 is such a powerful read which says the problem in this patriarchal society she has faced as a child and in different stages of her life because of the stereotypes.

Her father and grandma wished to have a son for him. Kim has an elder sister and younger brother. The male in the home are treated in a different way. The special care and the treatment.

I like Kim’s mom where it portrayed what she dreamed and what was reality and how she made up her mind to teach her kids well and how she placed a world map in their room.

The trekking club where she was had no women as head till the time she was in it and they were treated well but said they are soft, gentle people so they are caring more.

There are a lot of restrictions in their school and the question asked in the interview literally made me angry. Getting a job in those periods was so tough that women may not stay long in a firm as they will marry and move or their other personal responsibilities may make them quit.

The promotion was given to the man in her firm who also joined in the same period when she was more eligible for the promotion and client meeting where she was not treated well.

Her marriage life where she can’t make a decision when to have a kid and her decision to quit job to take care of the kid and some men’s comments when she was drinking same coffee as them all this made me angry and feel pity for the event in her life which made her seek medical help and treat herself.

I think everyone should read this book. I believe we are in a far better place where we can live the way we want and decide and the organizations that look at talent than gender.
